Welcome to the new Poseido.org Community Webpage. the purpose of the new page is to encourage community, communication and to increase site traffic. I STRONGLY Suggest that all guild members and officers read the following article to better understand the features available on the new site.

Getting antiquated with content management.
The new system has a very complex content management framework. with the current setup all users will have the ability to submit content to the system in the form of there own "personal" blogs as demonstrated here. User Blog this allows for people whom enjoy posting content and updates regularly on our forms to place them in a more public spot and get further recognition for there labors in putting together the content. If the content is deemed suitable it can be promoted to the front page where all traffic will be able to read it and benefit from its contents.


All entrys into the system are similar in the sense that they are dumb articles that contain a title body and a set of "tags" (like youtube) the real work is done based upon these tags and is filtered down to the proper sections. multiple tags can be selected for each article and cause it to apear under multiple pages or search results. for example. if you are to tag an article with a achievements as well as a media tag it will be avalbile on both of these pages in chronilogical order. i highly encourage proper taging to ensure content is maximzed throughout the system.


The various blocks on the left can be controlled by the administrative staff. this allows for quick easy to update recruitment notes or other such announcements to be added and removed quickly and efficiently.


Two Distinct Systems
The current structure will allow for two distinct systems a content management system and a forum system each with there own logins. this allows for us to keep our content management system cleaner then out forms we encourage users to sign up for both but the forums are for well managed in terms of recruitment opportunities etc.


EQDKP and why it sucks.
The EQDKP system will reside within the site nested in a iframe tag. this is because of various flaws with the EQDKP code and design i have chosen to run it as a completely separate autonomous system. where DRUPAL and PHPBB are constantly exchanging information on the back end. EQDKP will remain separate for security and management reasons you can see what i am talking about on the DKP Page Additionally because of various security flaws with the fancy stats plug-in this will be disabled until further notice as i develop a new one.


Things to Consider
When designing content for the page please think how it will effect the integrity of the page please attempt to center images with the HTML center tag as well please make them smaller with a smaller file size if possible. the system will accept both filtered HTML Full HTML and PHP Code this allows for greater control over the appearance of out story's. regular users will not have the ability to submit articles containing code and malformed code will simply not execute.


PHPBB and Integration
As of right now the frontend webpages are a seperate login from PHPBB both will require usernames and passwords. as the system recognizes your patterns it will begin to autolog you into both when you initate a logon attempt to either PHPBB or the Drupal frontend. in order for this to be achived smoothly i suggest that both yoru PHPBB username/password and Drupal username/password are the same. you will notice this overtime as the system verifys your identity browsing patterns and site enterance patterns. i highly encourage all users to signup for both. new registrants will be signed up for both PHPBB and Drupal withno further effort exisiting forum memebers will not be.
